I realized that I haven’t really done a proper post showcasing something about my neighbourhood that I love beyond all reason. Clearly, this is a tragedy that must be fixed.

So, one of the things they have here in Korea are these business called DVD 방s. (DVD bangs – you say it so that it sounds more like drug paraphernalia and less like the sound a gun makes) Basically, they’re like video stores, except that they have rooms with couches and TVs, so that you watch your DVD there, immediately. Most of them have a pretty good selection of American movies, which is important to know. Otherwise, this makes very little sense.

Guys, this is Spiderman.

He’s probably about twice- or three times life-size, and I’m pretty sure he’s permanent – just to remind people that if they come to that particular DVD bang, he’s keeping an eye on things.
